As indicated in the title, this post is about Father's Day, if this is a painful day for you I support and respect your choice to avoid reading this post.

Father's Day is coming up, Sunday 20th June and many of the lucky vaccinated of you may well be able to actually spend it with your Dad. For those of you, like me, for whom travel is still tricky, I have a new, unique and memory making Father's Day gift suggestion! Instead of socks, golf balls or a gardening book, why not learn to knit together?

You can join me together from wherever you both are in the world for a one off private lesson (you will both be knitting within 30 mins), book a 4 part course of knitting classes or share the Beginner Knitters Course and learn at your own pace.

Not only will you both have fun learning to knit and create a memory to be treasured but you will share a new skill...imagine the Christmas gifts you could give each other this year with your new talents!

While you ponder my unique Father's Day gift idea I shall list a few other options for you consider and be inspired by...

  • A handmade, knit to order Bow Tie, Suspenders, Bow Tie Lapel Pin or Tie from my very own knitwear label Wool & Water

A unique print from Leeds printmaker, Owen from OR8DESIGN

A whisky dram set, perfect for a long country walk, from Scottish leather craftspeople Lochness Leather

Red Leather Whisky cup holder with stainless steel cups beside it

All of the gifts I suggested are beautifully made by independent, small business owners who would be delighted for your custom.

Whether you decide to include knitting in your Father's Day celebrations this year, I wish you a happy healthy one full of hugs...if safe and permitted! I will not be with my Dad this year but will be sending a card and making sure my husband knows how much our little toddler loves him.
